We are thrilled to announce that Bossier Parish has two talented winners in the Congressional Art Competition, both hailing from Airline High School! Our winners are also in Bossier Schools Talented Arts Program.
Ava Agee placed second with her stunning piece, Glow of the Magnolia, and Emantyi Mosby earned fourth place recognition for her captivating work, Le Bayou’s Serenity.
The winners were honored at an awards ceremony, hosted by the Office of Speaker Mike Johnson, representing Louisiana's 4th Congressional District. Their incredible artwork will be proudly displayed in his office.
About the Competition:
Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent across the nation. Students submit their masterpieces to their representative’s office, where panels of district artists select the winning entries.
A big congratulations to Ava and Emantyi! 🎨

💜 Remembering the heroes of the Bataan Death March. This past weekend, 50 dedicated LA-951 Cadets from Benton High School walked and ran over 510 miles, honoring the immense sacrifice of the American and Filipino WW2 soldiers. Their 65-mile forced march in the Philippines is a testament to resilience.
In addition to their powerful tribute, the cadets also collected approximately 75 pounds of trash along their route, demonstrating their commitment to our community. We are incredibly proud of their efforts to #wintheday by honoring our armed service members and keeping Bossier beautiful.
