BAFB Air Show art contest

This year the Defenders of Liberty 2025 Air Show is including a unique opportunity for our students. Several of our students will participate in a variety of acuities prior to the actual air show. The final activity to support the STEAM experience is to provide an art contest for all Bossier Parish students. 

Students are being asked to draw their interpretation of the below statement or quote representing Barksdale Air Force Base and their role in defending our freedom. The students are encouraged to include a B-52 bomber in their art piece. 

The 2-D drawing:  can be drawn from any art medium of choice, can be 8 1/2 X 11 to 16 X 20 in size, may have a B-52 bomber in the picture, must have the student's name, school, and teacher's name on the back. may be matted, but this is not a requirement. 

Entries must be submitted to Holly George at the BESC by March 21, 2025. PRIZES 

All grade bands will have first, second, and third place winners. Each place will be awarded a cash prize, courtesy of Risk Pros Inc. There will also be gift cards awarded, and elementary winners will have an opportunity to "Have lunch with A Pilot." 

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ENTRIES - Grades K-5

MIDDLE SCHOOL ENTRIES - Grades 6-8 

"We must be free not because we claim freedom, but because we practice it." -Faulkner Show through your drawing what being free means to you and how Barksdale Air Force Base helps defend this freedom. Don't forget to include a B-52 bomber in your drawing if you can! 

HIGH SCHOOL ENTRIES - Grades 9-12 

"You can have peace, or you can have freedom. DOn’t ever count on having both at once." - Marshall

SELECTED ENTRIES WILL BE ON DISPLAY THE FULL WEEKEND AT THE BAFB DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM AIR SHOW.
