The Bucs in Blue have their sights set on Nationals.
The Haughton High School JROTC air rifle team excelled in the Air Force JROTC National Postal competition recently, earning a first place ranking that qualifies them to compete in the AFJROTC National Championships in February in Anniston, Alabama.
Varsity team members Wally Cassel finished with an amazing first place win; Chris Fick earned a 6th place finish; Layla Briggs, 21st; and Emily Wood, 23rd, especially impressive rankings among the 502 competitors nationwide. Other team members who qualified to compete in Alabama are Erin Rigsby and Ethan Evans. Col. (Retired) Tony Zucco serves as team instructor.
The Bucs in Blue will face the best marksmen from the top 18 Air Force JROTC teams throughout the nation. Congratulations to them and best of luck. They make us Bossier Proud.
