It is National School Bus Safety Week, so what better time for Bossier Schools to be named among the top 25 district fleets in America?
School Bus Fleet Magazine, a national leader in School Bus Transportation news, ranked Bossier Parish Schools Transportation in the 11th spot among districts in 2024. During the past year, Bossier school buses traveled over 2.4 million miles while transporting nearly 13,900 students to school each day.
A look at the stats:
The district operates 216 buses that service 336 daily routes
Included in the fleet are 25 clean-fuel propane buses
90-percent of route buses have air conditioning
All buses have between two and four surveillance cameras
94-percent of daily route buses are outfitted with stop-arm cameras
This school year, the district also implemented a new notification system that streamlines the process of sending immediate notification of bus information to parents and guardians.
Congratulations to Bossier Schools’ entire Transportation team for this impressive and important recognition.
