Four pre-educator students are pictured with their two teachers holding certificates.

Four Bossier Parish Pre-Educator students were among 3,300 middle, high and collegiate students who attended the 2024 Educators Rising National Conference in Washington D.C. and one came home a national champion.

Students competed in events designed to build the skills and dispositions of our future generation of teachers and educational leaders. Just being there was an honor, given that they had to earn their tickets to Nationals by placing in the top three in their state competition groups.

Alex Woodruff from Parkway High competed in Impromptu Speaking; Taylor Young from Airline High participated in Exploring Educational Careers; Rowen McEntee, Elm Grove Middle, took part in Interactive Bulletin Board; and Camryn Grimsley, Benton Middle, was a fierce competitor in Public Speaking. In fact, Grimsley took top honors in her competition and was named the 2024 National Champion!

Congratulations to Grimsley and thank you to all four students for being excellent representatives of Bossier Schools. You make us proud.
