Six current and former Parkway High School students are standing together following their rescue of a man who was drowning.

What began as a day of fun vacationing at Beavers Bend, Oklahoma quickly took a turn. Thankfully, six Parkway Panthers were in the right place at the right time.

Enter these real-life rescue heroes who noticed a man in the deep part of the swimming area flailing his arms and yelling for help. Josh Tell and J.P. McGovern rushed to the man’s rescue, while Abel Thetford, Jacob Gaskins, Braeylon King and Rex Fayson positioned themselves at the water’s edge. The six worked together as a team and were able to reach the man, then safely pull him to shore.

Fayson is a graduate of Parkway and the other five are currently Panthers. We could not be more proud of these rescue heroes and want to give them a huge shout-out for being lifesavers!
