LEAP 2025 High School
High school students take state assessments in six subjects: Algebra I, Geometry, English I, English II, Biology, and U.S. History.
State assessment scores comprise between 15% and 30% of the student’s final grade in the subject the student is enrolled. School districts determine the percentage. To earn a standard high school diploma, students must earn a score of Approaching Basic or above on three state assessments, including one in each category– Algebra I or Geometry, English I or English II, and Biology or U.S. History. Students who earn a score of Unsatisfactory may receive 30 hours of remediation in the course and are eligible to retake the test at the next administration.
Students with disabilities who have passed two high school state assessments may be eligible for a waiver of the third exam required for graduation.
